    1. 11/13/2017 ** Missy loves glitter and glitz, and she is looking forward to the class field trip to the state capitol building. This is the weakest of the four books in the Missy series. This book's strongest weakness is that the role of the governor is mis-represented. A governor doesn't make laws, the legislature does. Even books for our youngest readers don't need to have factual inaccuracies. Missy's series is not one of the stronger offerings from 's Branches imprint. Missy is too wrapped up [...]

    2. Grade Level: LowerEl (1st – 3rd grade) Number of Pages: 72VOYA Rating: 3Q 4P (with elementary readers)Recommended Melissa Abigail Rose is back for her 4th adventure. Missy is excited for the class field trip to the state capitol because it means they are going on a bus ride, get special snacks and no have to do any schoolwork. As they were touring the state capitol, Missy learns that there is no gift shop. She can’t believe it. In fact, she was is so upset about it, that she demanded to see [...]

    3. This is the fourth book in the Missy's Super Duper Royal Deluxe series by Susan Nees. It's a short, entertaining graphic novel for younger children and the plot is humorous. The illustrations are very colorful and cartoonish and I expect this series will especially appeal to younger girls. I disliked the commercial emphasis on the gift shop, but it is the highlight of many of our museum visits for our girls, so I'm sure they can empathize with Missy. We all enjoyed reading the first four books in [...]

    4. This series, which is part illustrated chapter book, part graphic novel features Melissa Abigail Rose aka Missy who is Enthusiastic about school life. In this particular story, Missy goes on a class field trip to the state capitol. She sits next to Oscar, a quiet boy, but soon brings him out of his shell. Missy loves to learn and is adventurous and curious. These 72-page books are colorful, with illustrations that help to tell the story, and there is a short quiz at the end. Readers in grades 2- [...]

    5. Missy Rose is irrepressible even when she's on a school field trip to the state capitol where she hopes to find souvenirs in the gift shop. Being paired with the reticent Oscar doesn't keep her down either. When the students realize that they will not meet the governor, Missy takes matters into her own hands and gains an audience with the man. Fans of the series will enjoy this one, but I got a little tired of Missy's antics and insistence on merchandise being made available. Even at her age, it [...]

    6. This book is enjoyable, but is the most unbelievable of the series. The plot is an entertaining one, and children will find it fun, but I don't think Missy and her friend would have ever been able to have the adventure they did on the field trip. Some students would be able to pick up on that. First, second, and third graders would enjoy this story. It is written in somewhat of a graphic novel style with some paragraphs thrown in.

    7. This is not my favorite of the Missy books. She was rather annoying in her persistence and one-track-mind about a gift shop. Her friend and field trip partner, Oscar, was just as annoying in his own way. I do love the format of this series with the very colorful illustrations and simple text in a mix of comic panels and chapter book. Young girls will adore it.

    8. Cute graphic novel that is laid out in a way that is straight-forward for readers who are new to this genre. I loved Missy and the good-natured mischief she gets into. I would love to share this with kids who want to get into Babymouse and other graphic novels but aren't quite ready for them yet.

    9. megan summer reading 2016, children's book, chapter book, series, missy's super duper royal deluxe, field trip, capitol, governors, second grade, first grade,

    10. Missy's adventures continue in this story about a class field trip. I love Missy's friend Oscar, they will be friends forever. :)

    11. Just as good as the others! Though I wish the author would just come right out and say if Oscar has some form of autism, which I am almost sure he does.
