    1. I have read a few self-published books in the past year and this one was by far the best. This book shows that the days of judging a book by its publishing should be well and truly over. I was hooked from the very beginning and felt the urge that every reader loves, the need to keep turning pages.     2. I read the paperback version of this book after friend lent it to me, raving about it. Although it's not the kind of book I usually read, I was immediately hooked as soon as I started. A mysterious beginning leads to developments that become more and more shocking, making it really hard to put down.I really liked the female character and got excited every time she appeared.     3. great characters, a nice sense of tension, but most impressive, a wonderful use of language and voice throughout. Looking forward to the next book from this author.

    4. This was an interesting read, with a somewhat unexpected plot device that probably should be mentioned in the blurb but isn't. In brief, the Ravenwood Manor exists outside normal time and is home to a series of portals that lead to various places on Earth and points in history. You'd think with such a concept that this would be a wonderful sci-fi adventure of people meddling in history (as in the excellent Times Without Number), but regrettably this central idea is never developed to a great ext [...]
