    1 thought on “Partners”

    1. A fast paced introduction to the full length novel 'Roll the Dice', this works extremely well as an introduction to the character's you will meet and the backstory to the the novel.I enjoyed this short story introduction and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

    2. Aurora Morelli is as tough as they come. Ultra feminine yet wielding a big stick and a bigger attitude. When her partner is brutally hurt, she is determined to crack the creep who did it. Her interrogation tactics squeeze the truth out of a wuss of an informant, but she meets her match in her new partner, a sexy, arrogant purse-carrying cowboy, Kai Larson. When he covers her during a gunfight, sparks fly in more ways than one and chemistry simmers. This is a short story to introduction to the ser [...]

    3. This lost a star for the use of the word 'druthers' which apparently means 'one's preference' in North American English. Wtf is that? Just say 'if she had her choice' and lose the druthers crap. Anyway, despite the poor word choice this was short and attempted too hard to sound like a cop novel. A bit too cliched and no thanks to part two. If I had my druthers there'd be no more books with lame arse regional English. See what I did there?

    4. Partners is a fast-paced mystery short that's full of action, well-written descriptions and fully developed characters. Loved Aurora and, though we only get a taste of Kai, he's tempting. Favorite line:"Broken wrist, lacerations and contusions, bruises everywhere and a heart that took months to mend."

    5. An amazing and well written romance suspense mystery! This is a must read if you enjoy romance, suspense and wild ride! I found another author to rave about!

    6. I love cop thrillers and yet this one didn't appeal to me. Something about the cops and how they acted didn't ring true. I don't know, I just couldn't get into it. My Rating: 3 stars

    7. The premise wasn't bad, female cop in Vegas gets a new partner because her old one is out on maternity leave. They are all looking for a serial rapist who also likes to kill and assault cops. The characters were ok, but you don't get the feel that this takes place in Vegas at all AND the police procedure in the story STINKS. I have a friend who is former NYPD. He doesn't read police procedurals. I don't know if it's because he lived it, so doesn't need to read about it or if he gets annoyed when [...]

    8. An introduction that catches you up to speed of who the characters and what their story is in the Vegas series. As interesting as any T.V. crime series out there, it is intricate in plot and in it's characters. You are thrown into the crime world of Las Vegas with tough cop Aurora. She is strong and as a woman in a difficult line of work demands respect and earns it. Her softer side is lurking beneath that hard exterior. Unhappy with a new partner and the hunt still on for the bad guy, the next [...]

    9. Great first book, with a cliffhanger! When Aurora’s partner gets raped and beat up by a serial rapist, she is given a new partner, Kai. He’s starts out right, when their first call together involves the serial rapist that attacked Aurora’s partner. This is a short book that’s is a great start to this series. I can’t wait to see what happens between Aurora and Kai. I would recommend this book. Ok, I’m off to read the 2nd book in this series!

    10. I am liking how this story is taking off so far and I am glad I decided to go ahead and try this author out.I have seen many of her books up but never thought to read them. Really glad I did. This book is the start off point for Aurora and Kai and I can only imagine how the full length novel is going to be. They are already starting off fun and I can't wait to see what happens further.

    11. The writing was good, wish it was longer and a bit more involved, I think the writing saves this book because the story is a bit short. Aurora Morelli is after a piece of garbage called Earl Rhonda and when she gets a new partner the two on on his tracks. For a short story the author did a good job in telling what I would call more of a teaser than an actual book or story.

    12. I love the book but I got so ticked off, it was getting to the really good part and it stopped and you have to go to the next book in series to pick up from the 1st one. It was just getting to the action part I can't take that so I went and bought the complete Set Vegas Series.

    13. I almost gave this a one rating because I felt deceived by the author (who is by all accounts well read and respected) with an incomplete short story that was a teaser (prequel if you please) to the first book in a series. This teaser just stopped. It was incomplete. It was well-written and that saved it from being the first one-star I would have ever given a book, but the characters in the timeframe given felt one-dimensional and the reason for the one female detective's reason for leaving the [...]

    14. I read this book as part of the Sweet Heat box set and am a little confused about the reviews saying it was short or an incomplete story. I loved reading about these two and loved the added suspense of chasing for the serial rapist with the crazy twist. I really love that it is a clean read with loads of heat between these two who have no intention of getting involved. But when the crap hits the fan, the heart takes over and there is nothing powerful enough to stop it.

    15. Very short prequel to the Vegas series which basically introduces the main characters and the villain. Too short to really get a sense of anything plus no resolution as it is a prequel setting up the story. If I was judging on merit it would be 2 star but as an opening to the main series story it was fine and did its job of making me want to read the full length hence the 3 star.

    16. A short introduction to the characters in the sequel "Roll the Dice" of the Vegas series I liked both the Aurora and Kai characters. Fast read. Got it for free, would have been upset to pay for it since it is only 8 chapters.

    17. Basically, this is just a preview for the book, which is another purchase. It has possibilities, but it wasn't enough to make me want to purchase the full length edition.

    18. Very good story. It sucked me in and I wanted more! That's the good. The bad? This book costs .99 on and it's only 8 chapters long. It's actually the prologue to Roll the Dice. That angered me. I, however, got this for free. Actually I got all 6 of her books in the Vegas Series for free. It's worth a read.but not for a buck. Author needs a new proof reader. I noticed a lot of mistakes, but not enough so I couldn't enjoy the book.

    19. I was very confused. I was led to believe this was a book. Then I find out it is a "short story". It was too short to be a short story. It is an introduction to the characters. The characters seem interesting though I wish the beginning had been a bit slower and developed the characters a bit more.It did interest me enough that I will read the next book.

    20. This 1st book's story line was good. The beginning started very happy. For this book to be short it had a good amount of action. I was very happy for Aurora's partner Debbie. For this book to be so short it's a good start to a series.

    21. 43pgs, Fast-paced and thrilling, a maniac rapist is on the loose and both detectives have good reason to want him. He's hurt people they love. If only they can work together as Partners, they might have a chance to put the shmuck where he deserves to be. Like the TV show Castle.

    22. A great start to a series and I can't wait to read more about Aurora and her new partner Kai's adventures together.

    23. Far too short a book to give me aother.ny idea if I would like any further books and if they are all this length then I def would not bother
